WORLD  FUNK  : THE UMA NOTA FLAGSHIP

Featuring

Samba Elégua

with David Arcus and the Kensington Horns

Samba Elégua, Toronto’s crowd-thrilling pranksters of percussion, team up with Richard Underhill and the Kensington Horns. The drummers take their samba-inspired rhythmic madness and meld it to the melodic arrangements of talented guitarist and producer David Arcus for a global funk connection.

DJ Jason Palma

Jason Palma, the legendary Toronto underground DJ and host of CIUT Radio’s Higher Ground, busts out his finest grooves on the turntables. He brings us the Brazilian*funk*soul power.

DJ General Eclectic

Stepping to the same beat is General Eclectic, a purveyor of fine dance culture in Toronto and the founding Uma Nota DJ whose unique designs set the visual landscape and have turned every Uma Nota poster/flyer into classic pop art.

Admission: $10 at the door

Beginning with our first event in 2007, the Gladstone has been the home of Uma Nota. For the inaugural evening of the festival, we kick it off in fine style with a classic lineup. This is a dance-floor party, no spectators … only good times with good people. Get down with this world funk on the Uma Nota flagship.
