WORLD  ELECTRO:  FUNKÉTÉ (MEETS) UMA NOTA

Featuring

Boogat  (live)

If there must be only one reference for a Canadian hip-hop world artist, then Boogat is that touchstone. Boogat is a vocalist / writer / producer living in Montréal, Canada. His music is urban and Latin, performed in Spanish and French. Boogat’s career has been in three steps: first in Quebec’s underground hip-hop scene as the frontman and beatmaker of Andromaïck; then with his solo French project under the name of Boogat and collaborating with the Movèzerbe collective; and finally in a Worldbeat 2.0 / Latin Urban / Tropical Bass project all in Spanish. Boogat recently released the EP Pura Vida and will perform across North and South America in the coming year.

Dos Mundos DJs  (eLman y Linterna)

The Dos Mundos crew bring the past, present and future of the Tropical Bass sound. DJs eLman & Linterna have got the sounds of the Baile Funk to the Kuduro to the Reggaeton to mash you from the bass up. These two duo also host the bumpin’ Funkété parties, and this edition is the year’s last before their trip to Colombia.

DJ Jerus Nazdaq

Salvador da Bahia native Jerus Nazdaq has been killing it around Toronto as both a singer, and as a DJ who keeps rich Afro-Brazilian sounds in her dubstep and world electro sets.

Prepare for a hard-hitting groove with an electric edge. This night is all about the raw vibes that are the trademarks of both Funkété and Uma Nota events. The Saturday night fiesta doubles as the official closing party for the AluCine Festival of Latin Film & Media Arts. AluCine’s festival awards ceremony will take place early in the evening.
