Uma Nota Festival of Tropical Expressions 2013, October 17-20

The third annual festival is coming up and we’ve expanded the program to four days of music, arts and culture.

We’ll announce much more in the coming weeks (watch this space and our Facebook page for updates).

Sunday, October 20: Community Cultural Fair at Lula Lounge (1585 Dundas St. W.)

Tio Chorinho, Rick Udler (Brazil), Heavyweights Brass Band, Forrallstar (live forró all-stars band in a “Grande Encontro”)

Plus workshops, cultural talks, dance, DJs, food and drink (Brazilian feijoada with vegetarian option), artists’ and vendors’ marketplace and family-friendly activities.

Co-presented by Dos Mundos Arts and Media, The Koffler Centre of the Arts and Lula Music and Arts Centre

2-11 p.m. Pay What You Can ($5 minimum donation/$10 after 7 p.m.)

Throughout the pre-festival week and over festival weekend, check out the Bridges Pan American workshop series presented by Dos Mundos Arts and Media: Community workshops teaching artistic and cultural forms from across the Americas. More details coming soon.
