Jah Tubbys was established in 1971 and has been playing soundsystem and building sound equipment for nearly 45 years. Hosting regular nights around London in the late 70’s and establishing the Jah Tubbys and Y&D record labels by the mid 80’s, Jah Tubbys was a formidable force, playing with some of the biggest soundsystems of the time. Nowadays, Jah Tubbys is recognised globally as one of the best soundsystem and equipment builders around.

In the mid 80’s Jah Tubbys adopted a young mic man who went by the name of Jasmine Joe aka Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith is better known today as Aba Shanti-I. Aba Shanti-I is regarded one of the UK’s leading soundsystems. Jah Tubbys current mic men include Errol Bellot, Dixie Peach, Gregory Fabulous, Prof. Natty and Mackie Banton.
