Jabú is in Toronto performing as part of Ayom for Luminato Festival, and what better way to welcome her than an intimate and true forró party with her sister Aline!
Forró is an all encompassing style. In its essence it is a dance in the old school sense of the word, a party to meet and dance.
The term forró refers to a musical genre, a rhythm, a dance and the event itself where forró music is played and danced. Forró is an important party of the Northeastern Region of Brazil and it encompasses various dances as well as a musical genres. It is playful, can be romantic, just silly, clever, and fun.
Guys this one will be special. Come enjoy a night of forró music and dance in our little hidden underground corner of the city. Everybody welcome, positive vibes only.

ABOUT JABU MORALES
Aloise Felippe Morales De Melo, aka Jabú Morales, is a Singer, Percussionist, Composer and Arranger.
Jabú moved to Barcelona in 2008 and soon became a leader on the popular Brazilian music scene. Her various Brazilian pop projects include Tambor de Saia and Mandacaru, and she has brought out two records as a solo Musician and Songwriter, Jabú and Malungo, which she also produced.
Jabú manages to combine her rhythmic musical heritage with all the influences she has amassed over the years she has been living away from Brazil. Her last project entitled ”Ayom” was born by the collaboration between the Composer Forró Miór and Artists that share the same passion for Afro-Latin and Brazilian popular music.

A leading force in Canada's Brazilian music scene, Juno-nominated Aline Morales delivers a personal and intimate perspective on contemporary Brazilian pop -- incorporating global folkloric and jazz elements with vintage Tropicalia and MPB.
Morales' strikingly clear and confident vocals shine alongside her evocative compositions and the lush arrangements contributed by long-time collaborator, producer and guitarist David Arcus.
Also a highly-regarded percussionist, Morales has changed the face of Brazilian music in Canada through a wide range of projects, showcasing her strength and versatility as bandleader and instrumentalist.
