Uma Nota Culture presents Son Rompe Pera, the marimba-smashing band of brothers from Naucalpan, Mexico, who have single-handedly defined the genre ‘Cumbia Punk’ and captivated audiences around the world.

The band’s manifesto, “Cumbia Is The New Punk” declares their devotion to and reverence for the two genres often thought to be on opposite ends of the musical spectrum, which they’ve proven can (and should!), coexist. Finally, audiences in Toronto can decide for themselves as they experience their unique style of garage-marimba-punk-cumbia, played on the historic marimba like no one has ever seen before.
